My old laptop had a modus where it could change area code for DVD’s, but is that widespread?
Especially concerning PC games?

it should work as long as you have a cd drive but some games say dvd pc so you have to have a dvd drive to play some games but yea all games have the same formatting so it should work.

yes, a game from anywhere in the world, will work on any pc/laptop in the world.
they are not region coded like dvd’s
also be carefull of the language, not every game has an english language option
