Question by Alex: Where can i get Operating Systems that are relatively cheap?
Im building a computer and have thought about Operating Systems. I have a tight budget (im 15) and so i have been getting the components i need off certain websites and certain stores but now i need an OS! Does anyone have any ideas of where i can get one that is slightly less expensive?

You can get many versions of the Linux operating system for free! Try Ubuntu, at http://ubuntu.com which is good if you’ve never used Linux before.

You are young and that is a good think. Being young makes you easier to learn. Why don’t you try some of linux distributions. They generally work well on low cost machines. I prefer Mandriva. I write from it right now. At work we use Ubuntu (it is most popular linux distributions)
It’s hard to find Windows XP anymore (it’s actually more expensive that Windows 7 now some places. Your best bet it to go with Windows 7 Home premium x64, for $99 from tigerdirect.
If you can’t afford that, your next best bet is to go with Linux Ubuntu. it is free and pretty user friendly. you will need to download and isntall imgburn to burn the .iso file to a CD for isntallation. Download links are below…
