Having more does NOT mean better protected. Having more just makes your computer run slow as hell. Not wise.
I currently only have two things running on my computers:
Symantec Corporate Edition 10.0
Windows Firewall
I also use Firefox, so I never have to worry about spyware getting onto my PC.
Why do you need anything else? I guarantee you I’m just as well protected as you are AND my computer runs significantly (if not extraordinarily) faster.
Symantec 10 also finds spyware…but if you need more security, go on and install Windows Defender (Microsoft Anti-spyware).
Windows Firewall works just as well as any other firewall on the net. And it takes up near zero system resources.
Get smart, don’t just download tons of crap.
For my home PC, I’m currently using Ewido Security Suite, Sygate Personal Firewall, Microsoft Antispyware, Prevx (generic intrusion prevention) Home Edition, AVAST! Antivirus, Home Edition, Spybot S&D, and Spywareblaster.
You crack me up lol. You have 3,4, 5 sets of protection each. Having alot of protection doesn’t mean your computer is better defended. If anything it is worst defended. I have Norton Antivirus, spybot, and adware as mine. The problem when you have to many is that the virus protection interferes with each other. Also they have many of the same patches so when you do get a virus they will both try to fix the infected file which when that occurs it can destroy the whole system lol. I’ve seen alot of inexperienced people loose their system to not a virus, but their virus protection. Here’s an example:
While surfing the internet you get a simple worm. It attacks one of your directorys. First off Zonealarm goes in for the repair and successfully reparis it. Wow. But then Avast who is slow to react also goes in and repairs it (see the problem) then the directory gets double scripted and now your computer is running twice as slow. Then another Antivirus does the same until the dirctory is completly distroyed!
That is only one reason to have only one virus protector. Pick the best one. You should have:
1 firewall (nothing made by microsoft)
1 Anti Virus
1 Spyware Protector
1 Popup blocker (it’s okay to have multiple pop-up blockers)
Hope that helps.
P.S. thanks for giving me a chuckle
LOL … as most people have said, having lots of firewalls, anti viruses etc. etc. does not mean you are more protected. One or two is enough and with the billions you have, you are just slowing down you computer!!
Anyways, I have Zone Alarm firewall along with AVG Anti Virus. For spyware I have Spybot Search and Destroy.

Firewall…Zone Alarm
A-V…Avast, BitDefender
